Canadian Open Winner and NC State Alumnus Tim Clark, Several 2014 PGA TOUR Winners Join Wyndham Field

GREENSBORO, N.C. – RBC Canadian Open winner and NC State University alumnus Tim Clark will play the 75th anniversary Wyndham Championship in two weeks, the tournament announced today. 2014 winners Hideki Matsuyama, Brian Harman, Matt Every, Chesson Hadley, Scott Stallings and Steve Bowditch have also joined the field. The 75th anniversary Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 11-17, 2014 at Sedgefield Country Club.

Clark had a brilliant tournament in Montreal last weekend; trailing by three strokes entering the final round, he birdied five of the last eight holes to track down 54-hole leader Jim Furyk for his second-career PGA TOUR victory. Clark, a native of South Africa, has made seven previous Wyndham Championship appearances; he finished second in 2012 for his best finish here. He is 27th in the current FedExCup point standings and 75th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Matsuyama won the Memorial presented by Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio; it was his first PGA TOUR victory. A native of Ehime, Japan, the Japanese superstar finished 15th in his Wyndham Championship debut last year. He is 23rd in the current FedExCup point standings and 15th in the current Official World Golf Rankings.

Harman, the winner of the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Ill., three weeks ago, is certainly no stranger to the Piedmont Triad. He won the AJGA FJ Invitational at Sedgefield Country Club’s Dye course in 2002 and at Forest Oaks Country Club in 2003. He has three previous Wyndham Championship appearances, and last year, the University of Georgia alumnus finished tied for third. He is currently 19th in the FedExCup point standings and 66th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Every won the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard earlier this year; it was his first PGA TOUR win. The University of Florida alumnus has played very well in both of his previous Wyndham Championship appearances. He finished tied for 14th in 2012 and tied for fifth last year. He is 21st in the FedExCup point standings and 48th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Hadley won the Puerto Rico Open earlier this year – it was his first PGA TOUR victory. He also won the Web.com Rex Hospital Open in Raleigh and the 2013 Web.com Tour Championship. A native of Raleigh, he played college golf at Georgia Tech. He is 61st in FedExCup points and 88th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He played the Wyndham in 2012 and ’13 but missed both cuts.

Stallings won the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego earlier this season. An alumnus of Tennessee Tech, Stallings has one previous Wyndham Championship appearance. He finished tied for 14th in 2012. He is 69th in FedExCup points and 89th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Bowditch also won his first PGATOUR event this year. The Australian golfer won the Valero Texas Open and also has a runner-up finish this year. He has made four previous Wyndham Championship appearances and finished tied for 29th last year – his best finish here to date. He is 51st in the current FedExCup point standings and 122nd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
