75th Anniversary Wyndham Championship Offers Free Golf Lessons at Growing the Game Pavilion

GREENSBORO, N.C. – While attending the 75th anniversary Wyndham Championship next week, Piedmont Triad golf fans can watch some of the best golfers in the world play Sedgefield Country Club’s Donald Ross-designed golf course, but this year, they can also get a free golf lesson in the Growing the Game pavilion, the tournament announced today. The 75th anniversary Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 11-17, 2014.

The Growing the Game pavilion presented by Titleist and the Carolinas PGA Section is new to the Wyndham this year. Located near the tournament’s main entrance, the pavilion will have two hitting bays for lessons. As part of its effort to increase the number of people playing golf, the Wyndham Championship is partnering with the Carolinas PGA Section and The First Tee of the Triad to provide free golf lessons for fans attending the Wyndham Championship. The lessons will be provided by Carolinas PGA Section professionals and The First Tee of the Triad coaches. In addition, fans can learn about the Carolinas PGA Section and purchase Wyndham Championship souvenirs at the tournament’s satellite merchandise location.

“The Growing the Game pavilion is a great addition to the Wyndham Championship,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “We are proud of our relationship with the Carolinas PGA Section, and I am very happy that the Wyndham Championship now has a “Get Golf Ready” component. I think our fans will enjoy having access to some free instruction, and I thank Titleist and the Carolinas PGA Section for partnering with us in this important effort.”
