Smith Golden Eagles Report with Kenneth Brown from Friday night at Lee County:Myles White is doing OK

Friday night was not our night. With the Yellowjackets up at the half: 20-0. The team was trying to salvage what was left of the game. A couple of good drives helped the Eagles get toward the end zone including on the second to last play late in the 4th when Jamerick Wallace took us inside the 20. However, the game was called with 2 minutes left after Myles White (QB) was taken off the field on a stretcher after an pinched nerve injury. CAT Scans shows that nothing major happened and Myles is doing well. The final of this one:
Smith- 0
Lee County- 47

The Eagles (0-2) will be at home next week for their first home game against Western Guilford. Kickoff: 7:30pm. Maybe next week will be our week.

  1. When I wrote “nothing major” i meant that his life was not threatened for those of you looking at this. The injury was a neck injury. He is expected to be ok.

  2. Please be careful not to share medical information about a minor on sites like this. Unless you have the OK by the parents you have posted health information that is a private matter.

  3. From the Sanford Herald: “The action ended with just over two minutes left in the final frame when White was hit on a play and stayed down for a while. The coaches called off the game, which by that point was playing with a running clock. Cates said White suffered a neck injury, but he was moving his other extremities and was taken to the hospital.”
