College Women’s Soccer Final – Guilford 1, William Peace 1

CARY, N.C. – Nicki Baggett’s (Greensboro, N.C./Ragsdale) 81st minute goal secured Guilford College’s Sunday evening tie with William Peace University, 1-1.

The Quakers held the Pacers to just three shots, all in the second half, to outshoot William Peace, 9-3. Guilford also held a narrow advantage on corner kicks, 2-1.

After a scoreless first half, William Peace’s Grayson Kincaid scored the game’s first goal in the 51st minute.

The Quakers countered in the 81st minute when Kelli Uresti connected with Baggett for the freshman’s first collegiate goal.

Becca Banks stopped one shot in the net for the Quakers. William Peace’s Shannon Maddex made four saves.

The Quakers (0-1-1) return to action Saturday, traveling to back to the Triangle area of North Carolina to face Piedmont College at Meredith College in Raleigh.
