Greensboro College Women’s Soccer Falls to Washington & Lee 7-0 in Home Opener

The Greensboro women’s soccer team (1-2) fell to Washington and Lee (2-0-1) 7-0 in their home opener on Saturday afternoon.

The Pride defense held strong in the first 45 minutes limiting the Generals to only one goal, making the score 1-0 at half. Jessica Thatcher made four big saves during the half.

The Generals came out strong in the second half tacking six more goals on to win the game 7-0.

Four Pride players recorded a shot; Meghan Cole, Lauren Greeson, Amanda Foley, and Melanie Raton. Thatcher ended the match with seven saves.

The Pride soccer team returns to action on Wednesday when cross town rival Guilford visits. The start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
