DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. – Following a second-round 302, the Elon men’s golf squad held steady in sixth place at the Rees Jones Invitational. Through two rounds, the Phoenix has a team score of 601 (299-302).
Will DiIanni continues to pace the maroon and gold after he posted a two-over par 74 over his second 18 holes. He sits in a tie for 14th out of 63 players with a two-day mark of 147 (73-74) and has a total of six birdies.
Jeff Krieger follows with a score of 151 (73-78) and is tied for 31st with one round to play. Krieger has a total of four birdies through two rounds.
After rounds of 79 and 75, Jonathan DiIanni’s 154 has him tied for 38th. He has posted three birdies over 36 holes.
Elon’s final two players are Jake Leavitt and Charlie May. Leavitt will begin the final round in a tie for 46th after posting a mark of 158 (83-75). May is one stroke back at 159 (74-85) and is tied for 51st.
East Carolina’s Al Dickens (64-72 – 136) continues to lead the individual field.
The Pirates also now sit atop the team leaderboard with an even-par 576 (286-290 – 576).
