High School Football Saturday morning rewind

Time to get rolling with a load of those numbers from the Friday night games and we listed some of these in here for you last night and tried to get up some of the info on the kids that had been hot and we did and now time to try and get everyone, as much as possible, on the plate in here this morning….

Very big night for Jamiel Mack and for the entire High Point Central team as the Bison went more with the run than the pass on Friday night and the results were strong to say the least…Mack the quarterback with 6 TD’s 154 yards rushing and he went 10-15 passing for 100 yards…His teammates joined in on the parade with Chavis Little having a big night too, running for 152 yards and ran for one score…

Not the typical night we are used to seeing from Reggie Gallaspy, but the Southern Guilford back did do enough to help his team gain the win at North Forsyth and Reggie finished with 203 yards and three TD’s…North Forsyth led in that game 9-6 at the half…

Another big night for C.J. Freeman and the Northern Guilford Nighthawks as they derailed Western Alamance 35-21….Freeman was on the run for 200 yards and one touchdown and NG still has plenty of wealth to go around with Cam Harris connecting with Tucker Hord for two TD’s and there was a total of three touchdowns total thrown by Harris who has done a very good job at the QB controls for Northern this season….Mook Reynolds had the other TD grab from Harris and how about a pop for kicker Tristen Simmons who was good on all five of his extra point kicks/PAT’s….C.J. Freeman also gave a lot of credit to his offensive line for opening up some great holes for him to run through on Friday night…NG at Eastern Alamance next Friday night…

Darius Graves of Dudley with two touchdowns to give the Panthers a big boost in their victory over Northern Durham and Graves goes in from two yards out and he returns a punt 73 yards for a TD…Graves on the ground ran for 101 yards on the night for Dudley at Tarpley Stadium….Trae Meadows also came up big for Dudley with an interception return of 65 yards for the home team and Dudley picked up their 20th straight win dating back to August of 2014…Dudley(15-0) in 2014 and now (5-0) to begin 2015…

There was the three-touchdown night for Thomas Hennigan out of Northwest Guilford and had never seen this kid before last night and was expecting to see a tall rangey kid in a high school mold of a Chris Collingsworth, but this kid digs in and can run as well as catch the ball and with him being just a sophomore, the has a high ceiling as many might say…Last night Hennigan ran for two scores and caught a pass from fellow-sophomore Jake Smith for another score…Smith gave a very good account of himself as well and he stepped in for senior starter Josh Homol and Smith led the Vikings to the win at Grimsley….I also liked the power running we saw from sophomore Kyle Finie with 105 yards and from senior Tariq Howard from NWG…An electrifying kickoff return of 92 yards for Grimsley’s Imani Barrett gave the Whirlies a reason to stand up and shout late last night….Not sure how many catches/receptions Mark Garner had for NWG, but he was another Viking that got his hands on the ball quite a bit last evening….

Don’t have all of the numbers but from our News and Record accounts and from the High Point Enterprise on-line lines we have QB Ryan ‘BubbaBomb’ Craven with three TD’s for Southeast Guilford last night and Styles Jennings ran in for the other SEG score and Devonte Cross tossed two TD passes for Southwest Guilford in the 28-14 victory for SEG at SWG…

For the Ragsdale Tigers in their 57-0 win at East Chapel Hill we had Tevin Quick completing 6 of 7 passes for 102 yards and a TD and he added two scoring runs for the Tigers. Ragsdale’s Devon Parks rushed for 79 yards and two TDs, while Jarious Drayton had 85 rushing yards and a TD.

Page fell to High Point Central, but we still need to give a shout out to Pirate QB Will Jones who threw for three TD’s and two of those TD tosses went to Jacori Johnson with one of the TD passes traveling 39 yards for the score…Miles Faison hauled in the other…

On the Eastern Guilford Wildcat scene Jarius Morehead continues to impress and he continues to carry a heavy load for coach Doug Robertson’s (4-1) ‘Cats….Morehead was all over the field for the Wildcats Friday night, punting, kicking and playing defensive back and receiver in addition to quarterback. He was just 6-for-14 passing the ball, but found success on the ground. By the end of the night, Morehead racked up 158 rushing yards on 11 carries with three touchdowns. In addition to Morehead, Terrell Pickett had 91 yards rushing on three carries and he caught 3 passes for 41 yards and had two TD’s…Jacob Finerty led the EG defense with two interceptions and took one back for a 25-yard touchdown…Picked up our news here from the Burlington Times-News….

Still building, but here is what we are coming in with so far today….

  1. I guess it takes a team to be a winning program not focusing on one player can’t wait to see Western Guilford to try and stop #25 train they will be facing next week…
