ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves’ advanced Class A team is moving to Zebulon starting next season.

The Braves move will mark the franchise’s return to the Triangle for the first time in 18 years when they were based in Durham from 1980 to 1997.

“The Carolina Mudcats are extremely pleased to partner with Atlanta to bring the Braves back to the Triangle,” said Steve Bryant, owner and president of the Mudcats. “They have enjoyed a great past playing in this area with wonderful fan support.”
