High School Football Tonight for (10/3/14) with Picks and Poll

We will have our GreensboroSports Radio team at Tommy Grayson Stadium, on the campus of Eastern Guilford, for Homecoming 2014 with the Wildcats hosting the Morehead Panthers…Air time around 6:45 and the kickoff is set to go off at 7:30pm….Don Moore will have all of your scores here at the site tonight, so keep checking back and stay on track with GreensboroSports.com….We will also have the Friday Night Finish cooking after the games are complete and here is a complete list of what’s happening this evening….

JV Football at 6pm: Salisbury at Southeast Guilford(Falcons unbeaten at [5-0])
Thursday night at Salsibury:
Southeast Guilford 33 Salisbury 14
SEG(5-1)/SAL(1-5)

Varsity tonight:
Northern Guilford(5-0) at Eastern Alamance(6-0)…..Northern should be facing their toughest test of the season…From what we have been reading so far, EA appears to be stronger that Western Alamance, but we will find out just how tough the Eagles are tonight, when they face the Nighthawks and one of the state’s top rushers in C.J. Freeman…NG can also come right at you with Harris and Reynolds and don’t forget Tucker Hord, he has emerged as one of the top receivers in our area…

Smith(1-4) at Southern Vance(0-5)….This is WIN night for Ben L. Smith…Hit that road and come back to town with big, nice fat/phat “W”….The Eagles have a chance to get some confidence tonight before their BIG game with Dudley coming up next week, but they can not be looking ahead to that game, TONIGHT is all about win #2 on the season for the Golden Eagles and all hands on deck has they travel the open highway…

Western Guilford(2-4) at Southern Guilford(6-0)….Reggie Gallaspy is signing with N.C. State today and it is Homecoming tonight for Southern Guilford….Can Western Guilford capitalize on what might be considered distractions in many corners, with so much attention be generated toward issues that are not directly connected to the Southern Guilford football team of 2014??? Chances are when SG hits the field tonight all of the distractions will become obstacles that will drifting out of the front gate and you better believe that the Storm will have one thing and one thing only on their minds, “We’ve Got to Win this Important Conference Football Game”….Western will have their hands full and who doesn’t when they are trying to tackle Reggie Gallaspy”??? A Gehsmann-Gallaspy battle? It is going to take a lot more than Gehsmann to stop Gallaspy….The RG kid is a load…Sort of like the old “Buck the Truck” guy Ricky Adams from Ragsdale and then also a lot like the young man “Touchdown” Toney Baker, but Gallaspy is faster than both in my opinion and is not lacking one bit in the power that both Baker and Adams possessed…

Morehead(3-3) at Eastern Guilford(4-1)….We’ve got Morehead vs. Morehead on Homecoming at Eastern Guilford, but Jarius Morehead has some Wildcat help on his side and he can call on teammates Tyrell Pickett, Jacob Finerty, Addison Benton, Kyree Lundy and Yrral Davis to be there for him and those guys are just your skill position players, EG has some linemen that are ready to line up and knock you off of the ball and that might just be where it all starts and ends at Tommy Grayson Stadium this evening…At the line of scrimmage…Got to get the good push up front and the ‘Cats will be able to improve their winning (4-1) mark if they do that…Got to beat Morehead off of the ball and get into that Morehead backfield on defense…Eastern has been quietly going about their business this season, but tonight is the night to step up and step out and be recognized and send out a key message that ‘Eastern Guilford will be a team that is going to be in the mix with the Top Teams in the Mid-State 3-A Conference Standings…What better night than on Homecoming, than to go and lay down the law and take care of business….It is time for Eastern Guilford to stand up and be accounted for….

McMichael(1-5) at Northeast Guilford(0-5)…Been long year for Northeast Guilford and the marbles just don’t seem to rolling in the Rams favor this season….McMichael has only won one game in 2014 and the team they topped Rockingham County, defeated NEG at RC 8-6….This all means NEG can compete with MAC, but it will take more than just competing to get the victory…NEG can use a boost and let’s hope they got their booster shots before school started this Fall, because they are going to need that push to get ‘Over the Top’ tonight…..

High Point Christian(5-0) at Metrolina(4-1)….Might be the biggest game of the season so far for HPCA….Can the Cougars keep that 5-game winning streak going as they travel to face one of the tougher private schools in Mecklenburg County??? Timmons, Scales and the rest of the boys will need to be on their game tonight and it would be real good/nice to see HPCA bring another “W” back to the County tonight….
