Smith @ Grimsley Metro 4-A Soccer Match…

Final score 4-2 Smith victory in overtime

First half:

Juan Espitia heads a goal off a corner kick from Carlos Casas to put Smith up 1-0.

Second half:

Juan Espitia hits an amazing shot off a beautiful assist from Amadou Toure early in the half. Then Grimsley gets one back. Raul Elizondo makes an amazing shot off a fast-break-pass from Juan Espitia, but the flag was up for off-sides, so no goal. With 30 seconds left in the half, Grimsley sends a long ball to the corner, passes in front of the net, and puts one in to tie it up, sending them into overtime.

Overtime:

1 minute into overtime, Tony Kdam passes to Carlos Casas, who shoots and scores, bringing it to 3-2. Only a minute after that Tony Kdam takes a shot off an assist from Juan Hernandez to solidify the victory for Smith with a final score of 4 to 2.

Y’Petrol Nie made 7 saves in the 100-minute-long contest.

The Eagles play away at Page High School on Tuesday and then take on our rival, the Dudley Panthers, at home on Thursday, October 9th. We invite everyone out to cheer on our undefeated soccer team!
