High School Football Saturday morning rewind:Gallaspy gets more, Morehead does more and more in store

Looking back at some of those numbers from last night, at least the ones we can find and six touchdowns/276 yards rushing is not a bad place to begin…Not a bad night at all for Southern Guilford senior Reggie Gallaspy….Six TD’s and 276 on the ground to go with it…And the SG Storm improve to (7-0) on the season, after their 69-26 thrashing of Western Guilford…Wow, the SG Storm continue to be a team to be reckoned with….And another Wow; that now takes Reggie Gallaspy to 1,878 rushing yards on the season and he has scored 27 TD’s and those are your updated numbers and you got it here first..

Nathan Stoner, Jeremiah Hedrick, Ron Hunt and Niles Thomas also made big plays for the SG Storm on Friday and if we need to add in more names, send ’em in…

Got to give it up to Jarius Morehead, who had just another superb/complete game for the Eastern Guilford Wildcats on Friday night…I was there and saw this one in person and this Jarius Morehead, is a ‘Person of Interest’….He started at quarterback and threw one touchdown pass and that came in the third quarter and earlier he ran for two scores, one of those on the first offensive series of the game for the ‘Cats, as Morehead took the ball in from 7 yards out and the reason EG had such a straight shot to the end zone is because Morehead had blocked an Eden Morehead Panthers’ punt to get the ball to the Panthers’ 10 and from there Jarius Morehead took it on in….He scored another TD from 36 yards away and that gave him two rushing touchdowns and one passing TD for the night and he came up with two blocked punts, running in hard at the punter from the left side and he also came up with two sacks of the Eden Morehead QB Will Dabbs and Dabbs also had the misfortune of seeing Jarius Morehead block two of his punts….Morehead handled the kickoff and punting duties for Eastern Guilford as well and he had to kick the ball off 7/9 times on the night, but on one occasion he to kick the ball three straight times to get it right, because his ‘Cat teammates kept on running ahead of Morehead, the kicker, and they were offsides and as for the punts, Morehead only had to punt the ball around three times on the evening…A complete game by Jarius Morehead and this kid along with Reggie Gallaspy, is a REAL Person of Interest….(at least N.C. State would say so)….Addison Benton threw one TD pass for the ‘Cats in the 37-0 Homecoming Game victory for Eastern Guilford and Benton also ran for a TD on a long scamper of 79 yards….Tyrell Pickett was also on the money for the EG offense, along with Yrral Davis….Those ‘Cats can play and with a leader like Morehead, more good is in store for Coach Doug Robertson’s kids…Like I was saying, I was at this game and could contribute quite a bit more on this outcome…..More on Morehead and the ‘Cats in today’s N&R with Keith Tolbert, or you can go on-line for Keith’s cache at www.news-record.com

For the Northern Guilford Nighthawks, it was a loss and I still think the last regular season loss on the field by the ‘Hawks dates back to the first game of the season for NG vs. the Page Pirates, back in August of 2011, but it was a defeat at Eastern Alamance, but even in the loss, not a bad night at all for NG QB Cam Harris with three TD passes with two of those going to Mook Reynolds and one for C.J. Freeman…Harris also ran for a touchdown of 50 yards and the stats folks had Harris with 79 yards on the ground for the night, but still not good enough for Northern to get past Eastern Alamance…John Lamot had 150 yards rushing and responsibility for three TD’s(two on the run an one on the pass), plus a two-point conversion run for the Eastern Alamance Eagles….And as you look it over, you have to say to yourself over and over again, and we will say it one time, since the word More is part of our theme for today, Harris with three TD passes and one TD run, that was a quality effort right there….
Harris numbers go 14-18 passing for 243 yards….Held down in the second half to 76 yards after a very big first half…..

Since we are attempting to research and study all of the names possible coming off of a light night of games from Friday, we need to bring Tevan Evans of Western Guilford in here this day on the “Saturday Morning Rewind”….Evans threw for three touchdown passes last night in the Hornets loss at Southern Guilford and the young man deserves a ‘Shout Out’ on this morning…TD passes from Evans go to Pratt, Glover and Sarpy…

We could use some numbers on that Smith Golden Eagle road win at Southern Vance(35-6 Ben L. Smith) and the same on the win by Northeast Guilford, their first of the year and it came last night 13-7 over McMichael at Bill Bookout Stadium…
$$$$$Myles White with two touchdowns for the Smith Golden Eagles, one rushing and one receiving…$$$$$

*****I am going to be looking/searching for More numbers, but this gives us a good starting point on our High School Football Saturday Morning Rewind….If you have some More numbers that you can loan us, send them in here…..*****
+++++Hopefully More coming in later on today.+++++
