Greensboro College Men’s Golf Tied For 9th After Day One of Royal Lakes

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA — The Greensboro College men’s golf team returned to action on Monday for the first of two days at the Oglethorpe University Fall Invitational. The Pride men held at least a share of the lead for most of the day, but found themselves in ninth place tie (305) at the rounds completion.

The Pride’s John Grimes paced Greensboro College with a two under par (70) round on the first day. His two under par score places in a five way tie for the individual tournament lead.

Tommy Conway fired a five over par 77 to sit in 44th place while Pride teammates Chad Gehres, Bryan Morris, and Jared Dillard sit two strokes back in 59th overall in the 94 player field.

Christian Hodge and Tristan Lough are also competing in the 36 hole event as individuals. Hodge finished the first round in an eight place tie at even par (72) while Lough sits in a tie for 22nd with a two over par 74.

The Pride men will return to the course on Tuesday morning for the final round of the even.
