College Men’s Soccer Final – Eastern Mennonite 2, Guilford 0

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Eastern Mennonite University’s Jake Lind tallied a goal and as assist as Guilford College dropped a Saturday night Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest to the Royals, 2-0.

The Quakers held the edge on shots, 22-11, including 12 second half shots. The Quakers also held the advantage on corner kicks, 12-5, thanks to a 7-1 second half edge.

Lind took a feed from teammate Juan Luna in the 14th minute off a deflection to claim an early lead on Eastern Mennonite’s second shot of the game. The 37th minute featured two Eastern Mennonite corner kicks back-to-back. Guilford goalkeeper Marko Mandalinic stopped a Jonathan Bush header after the first corner kick attempt. One minute later, Bush found the net on his second header attempt off a the second corner kick service from Lind to increase the lead.

Mandalinic made three saves in net for the Quakers. Eastern Mennonite’s Andrew Yoder made seven stops.

The Quakers (4-9-1, 3-3-1 ODAC) return to action next Saturday, hosting Shenandoah University for a 6 p.m. ODAC contest.
