DiIanni Shares Medalist Honors as Elon Men’s Golf Places 3rd at Maryland Terrapin Invite

ROCKVILLE, Md. – With a one-under par 71 during Tuesday’s final round, Elon’s Jonathan DiIanni claimed a share of the individual title at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational. His performance helped lift the Phoenix to a third-place showing in the 12-team field with a score of 889 (301-295-293).

Jonathan DiIanni’s co-medalist honors were the first of his career as he completed his three rounds with a mark of 214, two-under par. He bookended rounds of 71 around a second-round 72 and was second in the field with 12 birdies. He shared first place with George Mason’s Kyle Hart.

Jake Leavitt also had a solid tournament, earning a tie for fifth with a 218 (76-74-68). Leavitt tallied nine birdies and 36 pars over his 54 holes of play.

Finishing in a tie for 31st was Jeff Krieger. Krieger carded a 227 (74-76-77) and led the 75-player field with 40 pars.

With a mark of 231, Charlie May tied for 42nd, climbing 10 places in the final round of play. He shot rounds of 81, 73 and 77 and had 36 pars.

Rounding out Elon’s five countable players was Will DiIanni who tied for 65th with a 238 (80-80-78).

Two Phoenix golfers competed as an individual. Robert Seebold tied for 56th with a 235 (80-73-82), while Dex Blank shot a 257 (82-81-94) to place 75th.

Host Maryland took home the team title with a score of 868 (290-284-294).

Elon will wrap up its fall slate at the Camden Collegiate Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Camden, S.C.
