College Volleyball Final – Randolph 3, Guilford 1

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Jordan Templin put away a match-high 23 kills and added nine digs to rally Randolph College to a 3-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball win over visiting Guilford College Friday night. The WildCats (16-8, 4-3 ODAC) dropped the first set, 20-25, but bounced back for 25-13, 25-9 wins before holding off Guilford (6-13, 2-5 ODAC) 25-23 in the fourth.

The Quakers held a 14-13 edge in the fourth set before Randolph ran off a 6-1 run that featured three Templin kills. Guilford rallied to tie the set at 21-21, but Katherine Lesnak sealed the victory with her 10th kill of the match.

Marissa McClinton added 11 kills on .381 hitting for the WildCats, along with three service aces and three blocks. Lesnak chipped in 14 digs for a double double and Lexi Harrington picked up a match-best 17 digs. Kerry McMichael’s 42 assists led all players. She also had 10 digs.

Guilford’s Michaela Wall paced the Quakers with 10 kills on .450 hitting. Maile Munro contributed 30 assists and 14 digs, both team highs. Casey Davis had eight kills on .356 hitting with six digs and a block.

Coach Emily Gann’s Quakers will spend the night in Virginia as Guilford plays at Lynchburg College Saturday (10/18) at 1:00 p.m.
