GC Pride Men’s Soccer Blank Panthers 3-0 on Senior Day

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro College’s Logan Rohde picked up his sixth shutout of the season on Sunday afternoon as the Pride men blanked the Panthers of Ferrum College 3-0. Prior to the start of the game Greensboro College recognized Marco Figueroa, George Dimopoulos, and Adam Smith who played their final home regular season game for the Pride.

Shaun Watt got the Pride on the board just 13 minutes into the contest when he took a feed from the senior Dimopoulos to make the score 1-0. Later in the opening frame of play, Watt was able to collect a pass from Craig Gage to extend the Greensboro lead to 2-0 heading into the intermission period.

After the intermission break, Greensboro College had many more chances to score but could only tally one last time to come away for the 3-0 victory. Craig Gage scored the goal for the Pride after receiving a feed from Robbie Barnes who played the ball from the top corner of the 18 yard box.

Logan Rohde picked up the win for the Pride while making two saves.

Greensboro College outshot the Panthers in the contest 18-5 and held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. Craig Gage led the way for the Pride with five shots while Joel Cortez, Gorge Dimopoulos, Marco Figueroa, and Scott Fatyol each added two shots a piece.

With the shutout victory, the Pride men’s soccer team runs their overall record to 9-6-0 while improving their conference mark to 7-1. The Pride men soccer team will wrap up their conference regular season next weekend when they travel to take on Maryville College and Piedmont College.
