HPU Women’s Golf’s Sarah Bae Earns Third Big South Golfer of the Week honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – High Point University women’s golfer Sarah Bae earned her third Big South Women’s Golfer of the Week recognition this season, the league announced on Friday. Bae finished first at the Fighting Camels Fall Classic to earn her third career individual medal.

Bae carded a 4-over 220 (70-72-78) and birdied the par-5 No. 18 hole to secure a one-stroke victory at the Fighting Camel Fall Classic, earning her first victory of the season. Bae recorded a tournament-high 11 birdies on the way to her third top-five finish of the fall. The win moved the sophomore into a tie for the most tournament wins in the history of HPU women’s golf.

This is Bae’s fourth Big South Golfer of the Week honor and her third of the season. She previously earned the honor on Sept. 18 after finishing tied for third at the Oregon State Invitational and again on Oct. 2 after finishing in a tie for seventh at the UNCG Forest Oaks Fall Classic. Last season, Bae was named Big South Women’s Golfer of the Week once and Big South Freshman of the Week six times.

The Fighting Camel Fall Classic was HPU’s final tournament of the fall season. Bae leads the Big South in top-10 finishes entering the winter break and is second in the conference in stroke average at 73.42.
