College Volleyball Final – Washington and Lee 3, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Anna Lausberg had 11 kills and Mary Silliman added four service aces as visiting Washington and Lee University claimed a 25-18, 25-19, 25-15 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) volleyball win at Guilford College Saturday.

Mackenzie Shand chipped in nine kills and two blocks for the hot-hitting Generals (23-4, 9-2 ODAC). Shand, the ODAC’s hitting percentage leader, hit .571 for the match, which helped Washington and Lee hit .240 as a team. Jenna Gustafson added five kills on .417 hitting and also chipped in with three service aces and a club-high nine digs. Kelsey Cannon finished with seven kills and Alex Kinzer had 27 assists for the Generals.

Guilford’s Brittany DeCesare, one of three Quakers’ seniors honored before the game, responded with a match-high 10 kills. Casey Davis enjoyed a solid match with seven putaways, 13 digs and team-high three blocks. Brooke Herr notched 12 digs, plus six assists, and Maile Munro contributed a club-best 13 helpers and 11 digs.

Coach Emily Gann’s Quakers (6-17, 2-8 ODAC) close out their conference and home schedules this Wednesday (10/29) versus Roanoke College at 6:30 p.m.
