GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Sports Council’s high school basketball tournament, founded in 1976 as the Little 4 Invitational, is now the HAECO Invitational presented by NewBridge Bank, the Council announced today. The tournament also introduced its new logo which is based on that of its title sponsor, HAECO Americas (HAECO) as well as a new and improved website and new Twitter handle. The 39th annual HAECO Invitational is set for Dec. 26, 27 and 29, 2014. (Editor’s Note – Brackets will be announced December 9, 2014.)

With its title sponsor’s name changing from TIMCO Aviation Services to HAECO Americas, the high school basketball tournament’s name changed to match that of its title sponsor. On October 22, Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited announced that it had launched a new corporate identity. The new, singular identity represents the depth of HAECO Group’s aerospace capabilities, the breadth of its international network and the strength of its integrated aircraft support services.

The HAECO Group’s 18 subsidiaries and joint venture companies around the world, including Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (“HAECO”), Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (“TAECO”) and TIMCO Aviation Services, Inc. (“TIMCO”), now stand proudly behind one name: HAECO. While the rebranding clarifies the relationship among the HAECO family of companies, its customer-centric approach to service and commitment to operational and technical excellence will remain at the core of its culture.

“We are excited to again be the title sponsor of this exciting tournament and to have the opportunity to share our new brand name with the community,” HAECO Americas CEO Kevin Carter said. “We are still the same company that has grown within our community over the past 24 years, only now are part of a larger, global family.”

“The Greensboro Sports Council is proud to continue its partnership with HAECO Americas,” Greensboro Sports Council president Kevin McCoy said. “HAECO’s involvement in our high school basketball tournament has
evolved significantly in the last few years, and we look forward to sharing the growth of this event with our partners at HAECO. We appreciate everything that Kevin Carter and Kip Blakely have done and continue to do for the HAECO Invitational and the Piedmont Triad community.”

In addition to announcing the new tournament name, the HAECO Invitational launched its new website this morning. The new site, www.haecoinvitational.com [1] is now live, and the tournament’s new Twitter account, using handle @HAECOInvit is also now active. The HAECO Invitational will announce its seeds and pairings at a news conference
on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 at The Terrace at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.
