Game Report:Southwest Guilford Cowboys past WS Reagan 72-61 and Mitchell on the move with 26 points

The Cowboys of Southwest Guilford hit the road to tip off the 2014-15 season to face off against Raiders of Reagan High School. It was both team’s opening game on the year and were looking to start off with strong starts. The Cowboys started out strong out of the game jumping ahead 9-2 by the 4:45 mark. After a pair of missed free throws by the Cowboys, the Raiders started to chip away at the lead, but the visitors maintained control of the frame with it ending at 22-7 in favor of the Cowboys. In the second quarter the hosts started clawing back and go back within single digits by the 3:30 mark at 28-20. A quick spurt by the Cowboys got the lead back out to 33-20, but a layup right at the buzzer by the Raiders took the half time tally to 33-22. The second half opened up with the teams trading 3 pointers. The Cowboy lead hovered in the teens for the frame and the third ended at 52-39 still in the control of the Cowboys. The final frame had the hosts still fighting, even getting the lead back to single digits at 62-53 midway through, but again the Cowboys answered with good offense and team defense. The Cowboys were able to kill the clock and earn a tough road win over Reagan at 72-61. The Raiders were led by Jacob Hartle with 22 points. The Cowboys were led by Kaymon Mitchell with 26 points and 11 Rebs, Kam Langley with 15 points, 7 asts, 4 Rebs, and KJ Langley with 14 points, 6 asts, 2 Rebs.
