Elon Men’s Soccer Honored as a Top Academic Team by NSCAA

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Elon University men’s soccer team was honored for the eighth straight season as one of the top academic teams in the nation with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award as announced by the association on Monday, Nov. 24.

“First off, I want to thank our academic coordinators, Cayce Crenshaw and Karen Neff, for the wonderful job that they continue to do working with our players,” said Elon head coach Chris Little. “This is the eighth year in a row that we’ve had a 3.0 or higher GPA and it’s a testament to their efforts and the dedication to excellence in the classroom by our players.”

The Phoenix was one of 279 institutions that posted a grade-point-average of 3.0 or better during the 2013-14 academic school year to earn the award. A total of 861 collegiate soccer teams (279 men, 582 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher with Elon being one of 188 programs that had both its men’s and women’s teams recognized.
