Strong second half lifts Stony Seawolves over Lions, 82-68
Redshirt junior Miranda Jenkins(Eastern Guilford High School) notched her first career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Stony Brook, N.Y. – The Stony Brook Seawolves (2-1) used a 52 point second half to pull away for an 82-68 victory over the Columbia Lions and improve to 2-0 at the new Island Federal Credit Union Arena. Four of the five Seawolves starters scored in double figures, led by senior Sabre Proctor’s (Harrisburg, Pa.) 19 points. Redshirt junior Miranda Jenkins (Greensboro, N.C.) posted her first career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Stony Brook coach Caroline McCombs’ Reaction:
“I’m just really proud of how we persevered through a lot of things early. We came out in the second half and corrected some of the things we talked about at halftime. As a group, everybody contributed in some way or another. I am really proud of how we fought through some of the things that were going on throughout the game to get the win.”

  1. Miranda congratulations on how well you have stayed the course through injuries and has help turn Stony Brook into a winner. You were always a joy to watch here at Eastern and how well you played the game. What we liked most was how well you carried yourself as a person. We will come and watch Stony Brook play Duke on Friday.
