Courier-Journal of Louisville, Kentucky is reporting the score at 71-55 Montverde and the Ballard coach said he knew it might get tough on his Ballard Bruins:
Montverde has a towering roster led by 6-foot-9 power forward Ben Simmons, who has committed to Louisiana State and is ranked by some recruiting services as the No. 1 senior in the nation. Other top players are 6-8 Noah Dickerson (Florida commit), 7-1 Doral Moore (Wake Forest commit) and 7-4 Jean Marc Koumadje (Florida State commit).
“My feelings about our game against Montverde are the same feelings I had when I was younger waiting for my dad to come home and spank me,” Ballard coach Chris Renner said. “I knew it was coming, and there was nothing I could say or do to change the outcome. Good thing is that the spanking was usually never as bad as expected.”
According to the Louisville newspaper and the Montverde twitter account, Montverde won 71 to 55. Eaves scored 12 points for Ballard. Graves’ name was not in the box score.

MaxPreps has now changed the final score to reflect Montverde as the Winner, 71-57, but here is the game recap that still remains on the MaxPreps site….Sorry for any confusion, but MaxPreps is a quick reach source and this time they were off the mark…Graves was not listed on the early-season roster for Montverde, but there may be an update now…

Florida High School Basketball – Ballard nips Montverde Academy
(December 5, 2014: Montverde, FL 34756) Ballard Bruins (Louisville, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Montverde Academy Eagles (Montverde, FL), 65-64 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Ballard upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Bruins travel to Hammond (Columbia, SC) to play the Skyhawks in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 6. The Skyhawks go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Hammond won 66-47 in their recent non-league bout against Waverly (Waverly, OH)
Next up, the Eagles play the Plano West Wolves (Plano, TX) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 6. Montverde Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 6-0 record after their 83-73 non-league win over Prolific Prep Academy (Napa, CA).
