Dudley girls won by almost 30 tonight against Bartlett Yancey. Dudley girls plays GDS at 7:30pm on Friday. Next to Hillside this may be the toughest team of the season. Dudley may be too big and fast for GDS. Dudley will be going to Jacksonville after Christmas for a holiday tournament. Dudley is finally rolling again. Time to reclaim the Metro this year.
Why isn’t Northwest playing teams such as Dudley or GDS in their own tournament? NW played a team yesterday that they beat by 50 pts. It is easy to go 9-0 when you have not played anyone. If NW & GDS play in the Timco (NW has more talent so they should win) and NW meets Northern for the 3rd time in less than a month, then those are good test games. NW does not have anyone in conference to fear. NW may enter the playoffs undefeated this year and get several home playoff games in the early rounds. The NW boys and SW will have to battle each other for 1st and 2nd but both will be high playoff teams this year.
To say the NW girls can go into the playoffs undefeated is a pretty BOLD statement. Any team can get beat on any given night if they don’t bring their A game every night. Most of these girls have been playing together since 6th grade but if they don’t come to play on any given night we can be beat, just like any team in the state. nothing is given to us this year.
NWG guilford girls have played Northern twice and SE and won. Both Northern losses and SE only loss came to NWG. NWG guilford girls played Page which is suppossed to be a tough game (maybe not this year). Southern Alamance is always a team NWG plays and their girls are usually strong. How can they be criticized for a schedule the AD makes for a fundraiser tourney, when outside of that tourney have beat and played top teams in the area? Who knew page and So Alamance would be bad/average??
