GREENSBORO, N.C. – The semifinal day of the 2014 HAECO Invitational presented by NewBridge Bank has been designated HSXtra night, the tournament announced today. The 39th annual HAECO Invitational is set for Dec. 26, 27 and 29 at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center.

News & Record high school editor Joe Sirera drives the content and is a major contributor to the site.

To raise awareness of its new high school sports website, the News & Record is sponsoring the semifinal round at this year’s HAECO Invitational. Saturday night, Dec. 27 will be called HSXtra night. News & Record personnel will be on site with a giveaway for two tickets and a parking pass to see the No. 2 ranked Duke Blue Devils take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Winston-Salem Wednesday night, Jan. 7, 2015 in Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball. Sirera will be on hand to not only cover the tournament but also to visit with tournament-goers regarding the site, their high school and their teams. HSXtra t-shirts will be tossed to fans in the stands during breaks in tournament action.
