Downsized MLK Classic Games coming to UNCG’s Fleming Gym on Monday January 19

The MLK Day Games for 2015 will played at UNCG’s Fleming Gymnasium on Monday January 19 with just three games this year and the action for the 13th Annual Classic will begin at 11:30am and the last of the three games will start at 2:30pm……Just three games this year and we used to see up to 5-6 contests, but this year they have the U.S. Figure Skating Championships going on over at the Greensboro Coliseum….

We do have Page, Dudley and High Point Christian Academy from Guilford County participating in this year’s event….

11:30 am Forsyth Country Day School vs. Greenfield
1:00 pm Page vs. High Point Christian
2:30 pm Dudley vs. Trinity Christian

In its first year (2003), the North Carolina Scholastic Classic brought future NBA superstar LeBron James to the Triad, drawing a crowd of 16,220, a North Carolina state record for a high school basketball game. Other future NBA stars that have appeared in the Classic over the past 11 years include Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder), Josh Smith (Houston Rockets), Brandon Jennings (Detroit Pistons) and Ty Lawson (Denver Nuggets).
