High Point, NC – –

Tonight the Ragsdale Tigers made the short trip to High Point for their first Piedmont Triad 4A Conference test against the Bison of High Point Central. The Tigers would come out of the gates racing to an early 12-2 lead after the opening period. The Bison would slowly chip away and cut their deficit to just 4 at the halftime break. The 2nd half was a defensive battle. Both teams struggled to put the ball in the basket all night. High Point Central had a two point lead late in the game when Ragsdale was able to tie the game with just under one minute left in regulation. Ragsdale was then able to get a key defensive stop, but was not able to score, sending the game into Overtime. During the first overtime period, Central took an early lead, but the Tigers were able to attack the basket and tie the game at the free throw line. Ragsdale was once again able to get a key defensive stop late in the first overtime, sending the game to a 2nd Overtime. In the 2nd Overtime, the Tigers were once again in attack mode and able to get a lead they would not relinquish. Central was then forced to foul, where the Tigers would hit 9/10 free throws in the 2nd overtime period.
