The two-sport star, Diondre Overton(Page High School), has a received a football offer from West Virginia University and now the 6’5/195 pound wide receiver can play some more hoops and wait for more offers to come rolling in….

The word from www.wvsports.com is that WVU is interested in Overton and the word we have been getting is that Diondre wants to play both sports, football and basketball in college, but the word on WVU, is that the Mountaineers are looking at Overton for football only…

Diondre’s favorite sport from what we have been able to gather is basketball, but his best sport right now, as a high school junior, appears to football, if you look at the long-range scheme of things….

Good luck to Diondre Overton as he sorts all of this out and we found this kid long before these colleges did, we were following him back when he was playing basketball as a freshman, down at Southeast Guilford High School…But, as we all know too well by now, when the big schools step in and the big colleges start talking, teams like ours, are left looking for the “next big thing” and it might be time to get on to it….

Overton is a real player and he is very impressive no matter what field or court he decides to call his home in the future….

Some of the inside they were sharing over at NCPreps.com and at WVSports.com:

Good sources, NCPreps and WVSports.com……Both are Rivals.com organizations….

*****If we want to learn or see more at those sites, we are required to join and in most cases, pay a membership fee….Good stuff, but I have seen most of this stuff on the street and that is where we get most of our work done…Either on the street, or in the ditch…*****

He should go to North Carolina A&T. He would have a better career and may can play both sports.

Agree he would be able to play both sports at NC A&T. Even though the basketball team isn’t that good, A&T football team has gotten better every year under coach Broadway
