HPE WBB’s Robertson Named Big South Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Redshirt-senior Stacia Robertson of the High Point University women’s basketball team was named Big South Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

It is Robertson’s third award this season and fifth in her career, which moves her past Cheyenne Parker and Katie O’Dell for the most player of the week awards in program history.

The Nebraska native has been great all year for HPU, but took her play to a new level to lead the team to a 3-0 week. She averaged 22.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.3 blocks, 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals per contest while hitting 27-of-31 (87 percent) of her shots. The forward scored 20-plus in each of the three games and posted a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Winthrop on Saturday.

Robertson’s 67 points this week pushed her past 1,000 for her career, becoming the eighth player in HPU’s Div. I era to reach that mark. Meanwhile, she moved up to fifth in the nation in shooting percentage making nearly 63 percent of her shots on the season.

Robertson and the Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when they visit UNC Asheville.
