College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford Falls Twice in ODAC Double-Dual Meet at Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team dropped a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) decisions Saturday in a double dual meet hosted by Bridgewater College. The host Eagles downed the Quakers, 174-63, and the University of Notre Dame of Maryland scored a 165-69 triumph.

Freshman Isabel Gutierrez continued to make her mark among the Quakers’ fastest swimmers. She set the school record in the 400-meter individual medley with a winning time of six minutes, 22.23 seconds. Gutierrez notched the second-fastest 200-meter breaststroke time in school history (3:08.74) with her second-place time. The rookie placed third in the 100 breaststroke in a time of one minute, 27.90 seconds, fourth-best in school history.

Hannah Brewer-Jensen clocked the second-best 400 individual medley time and the fourth-fastest Guilford mark in the 200-meter butterfly.

Nina Troy took home fourth place in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 33.33 seconds. Teammate Morgan McKinnon also had a fourth-place effort in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:18.39.
Guilford’s 200 freestyle relay team of Troy, Caitlin Young, Jocelyn Gesner and Alex Barbour placed second in a time of 2:38.52.

Coach Emily Wilson’s Quakers (0-9, 0-7 ODAC) are back in action Friday night (1/23) in another ODAC double-dual meet hosted by Greensboro College at 7:00 p.m.
