If this kid Frankie Eaves from Page High School is not careful, he will be playing pro basketball for somebody, someplace, one day and I might end up being his agent….Frank scored 20 points for Appalachian State last Thursday vs. Charlotte, followed that up with a career-high of 27 points on Saturday vs. Georgia State and then Frankie came back last night with a new career-high of 29 points for the APPS in a victory over Troy…..Frank Eaves(Page High School) goes for 20, 27 and then 29 points…
Frank Eaves has it going on and our old friend Kanayo Obi-Rapu Jr.(New Garden Friends School) came back to the Triad last night with the Longwood Lancers and hit for 11 points on 4-7 shooting in a Big South Conference game at High Point University….HPU 72-67 over Longwood, but Obi did his part and as a freshman player, he is getting the job done and then some…
More from APP State on Frankie Eaves and even Jacob Lawson(Northern Guilford/ORMA) getting in on the act for APP…
TROY, Ala. – Behind a career-high 29 points from Frank Eaves(Page HS), Appalachian State University men’s basketball picked up its second-straight Sun Belt Conference win, a 69-64 victory at Troy on Monday night at Trojan Arena.
The Mountaineers (6-10, 3-4 Sun Belt) raced out to an early double-digit lead, but a scoring drought late in the first half allowed the Trojans (7-9, 2-5) to regain the advantage before Appalachian battle its way back for the victory.
Appalachian State opened the contest on fire, hitting 4-of-6 three pointers in the first five minutes of action to open up a 12-4 lead. Jacob Lawson’s(Northern Guilford HS/ORMA) dunk with 14:53 on the clock gave the Apps their biggest lead of the game (14-4).
Eaves led all players with 29 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including a 6-of-10 night from beyond the arc.
