Elon Track and Field Wraps up Competition at Hokie Invite

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Elon University women’s track and field team completed competition on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24, on the final day of the Hokie Invite, at the Rector Field House.

Elon’s Megan Kirschling had a sixth-place finish in the women’s high jump after clearing the bar at 5’ 6” (1.68m). In the long jump, freshman Lydia Laws was Elon’s top finisher in the event with her mark of 16’ 10.5 (5.14m).

Sophomore Bre’anna Warren had a strong outing in the shot put with her toss of 43’ 11.25” (13.39m), good for sixth overall. Freshman Bryanna Hames threw a mark of 38’ 7” (11.76m) in the event to finish 19th.

Elon returns back to competition next weekend, Jan. 30-31, for the Hilton Garden Invitational at the JDL Fast Track complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
