Sulaimon drew frequent critique from Krzyzewski this season. Early in the season, Krzyzewski said Sulaimon was not playing well and had seen his playing time suffer as a result.

In Duke’s 75-62 win against Elon, Sulaimon was called for a late-game technical. Krzyzewski, after the game, said that play was not acceptable. Sulaimon apologized as well.

“I lost my cool and made a bone-head play, something that a Duke player doesn’t make,” Sulaimon said after the Elon game. “I’m very ashamed and embarrassed at the way I represented this program, myself and my family.”
