Jamestown, NC – –

This evening the Ragsdale Tigers squared off against conference foe, the Vikings of Northwest Guilford High School. Ragsdale would look to continue building momentum from its previous two conference wins, while NW Guilford was also coming off a close victory at home against East Forsyth earlier in the week.

The Vikings would strike early and often in the first half. NW Guilford connected on nine 3-point field goals in the first half, led by Sam Covington with five, to give the Vikings a halftime lead of 57-25. Ragsdale would continue fighting, however, as the Tigers were finally able to get the offense going a bit in the second half. The Vikings would be too much on this night, as they would run away in the end with the 74-58 victory.

Ragsdale placed three players in double figure scoring on the night. Leading the way for the Tigers was Senior TJ Parker (16 points, 5 rebounds), Sophomore Greyson Collins (11 points) and Senior Grant Ali (10 points). Junior Shawn Stringfellow also contributed 9 rebounds for the game. Sam Covington led the Vikings with a game-high 21 points on the evening. Tre Turner also had 15 while Jalen Spicer chipped in 13 for NW Guilford.

Ragsdale drops to 13 – 7 overall and 3 – 3 in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference. NW Guilford improves to 18 – 2 overall and 5 – 1 in the conference.
