Game Report on Vandalia Christian-Faith Christian boys basketball from Tuesday night with Michael Fields

from Michael Fields(GTCC) covering VCS Basketball for GreensboroSports.com

Vandalia Christian faced Faith Christian on Tuesday in Pleasant Garden. This series between these two schools have always been a rivalry. In the recent years, the series has pretty much been dominated by Vandalia Christian. It was no difference this past Tuesday night. Faith did not let Vandalia just roll over them though. They put up a good fight. They had a valiant effort. The game opened up pretty even. At the end of the first quarter, it was only a one point game. Vandalia found their groove and exploded in the second quarter. They outscored Faith by 15 points in the quarter. They went into halftime up by double digits. Faith came out of halftime fired up. They never quit. They outscored Vandalia in the third quarter. Faith went into the fourth quarter down by still down by double digits though. Faith had a couple late surges in the fourth quarter. Ultimately, Vandalia was too much for Faith. Vandalia just had to many weapons on offense and were playing exceptional defense. It was hard for Faith to score, especially since they did not have a dominant scorer. Vandalia cruised to the win over Faith. I have watched many Vandalia games this year. One thing that sticks out to me is the balanced scoring on offense. Vandalia has so many weapons. They use all of their weapons though. It is not like they have scorers who don’t get touches or points. The Vikings distribute the ball well and are lethal on offense with all of their weapons. It is crazy that the Vikings have that many offense weapons in their arsenal in a league where they are playing mostly weaker Christian schools.
