Is it on scholarship because don’t see anything on the Duke website
It’s as a walk on
He should have a good chance of making the Duke team and seeing time as a linebacker down the road…
Started at LB for the North Carolina team in the Shrine Bowl and had a pick and several tackles against a very good South Carolina team…
I have seen most of the kids who have come out of Western Guilford in the past 40 years and he is as tough as any that I have seen and he one major advantage over the rest of us that came out of there, the kid is smart, very smart and that bodes well for being at Duke…
I spoke with Glen Morris about Gehsmann back in the Fall at a Western Guilford game and Glen liked what he saw and he was very impressed with Gehsmann and Glen started for ECU at LB back in the day…He know the LB position pretty well on the DI level….
Say Gehsmann goes in there as a preferred walk-on and gets some decent playing time and then maybe works his way into the starting lineup, you never know, he might just end up with a scholarship…
Stranger things have happened….
It all comes down to “how hard do you want to work and can you impress the coaches and get the coach’s attention”……
You come out of Duke with a football career and a degree and you are in a good spot for life….
