Jamestown, NC – –

This evening the Ragsdale Tigers squared off against conference foe, the Bison of High Point Central. Both teams were coming off road conference losses, and would look to gain an edge going into the final week of the regular season. The first time the Tigers and Bison hooked up a month ago, 32 minutes of regulation play was not enough to settle the matter. It took an additional two overtimes, with Ragsdale finally pulling away with a seven point win in High Point.

In tonight’s rematch, the Bison would take an early first quarter lead thanks to early baskets from Patrick French and Jo’el Jenkins. The Tigers offense was very stagnant to begin the game, and the Bison would take a six point lead to end the first frame. However, Ragsdale then got it going on both ends in the second quarter. The Tigers used a variety of swarming, pressure defenses which allowed them to get some transition baskets, in addition to long range bombs from TJ Parker, Kyle Watkins and Greyson Collins. The Tigers would outscore the Bison in the second quarter by 15 points to go into halftime with a nine point advantage. High Point Central would continue fighting in the second half and play pretty evenly on the scoreboard. The Tigers would eventually come away with a much needed conference win at home, by the final score of 59-49.

Ragsdale placed three players in double figure scoring on the night. Leading the way for the Tigers was Senior TJ Parker (15 points, 6 rebounds) and Sophomores Kyle Watkins (14 points, 4 rebounds) and Greyson Collins (13 points, 3 steals). Jamal Anderson led the Bison with 15 points on the evening. Patrick French also chipped in 11 for High Point Central.
