It is safe to say that the Vandalia Christian Vikings were fired up after losing to their big-time rivals Gospel Light Christian Lions. You could sense around the gymnasium that they were ready to get back on the court and play some Viking basketball. They were ready to crush whoever they had to play. Unfortunately for Wilson Christian Academy, they were the victims.

Vandalia was ready to show their home crowd that their team was ready to win again. The Vikings started the game on total fire. It seemed like they could not miss. It felt like they were winning every loose ball and just playing at all on offense and defense. Wilson Christian tried everything that they could think of to disrupt the Vikings on offense. Nothing worked for them. Wilson couldn’t get anything going on offense either. Vandalia ended the first quarter with a healthy lead.

They continued to add to it in the second quarter. You could tell that Wilson was just distraught on offense and defense. It wasn’t like they did not have any talent. Their record may point to that, but they had three or four guys with tremendous talent. Unfortunately for Wilson, Vandalia had more guys with incredible talent. The Vikings went into halftime with a 23 point lead.

It’s really hard to overcome a 23 point lead on the road; no matter what kind of team that you have. Wilson Christian did not give up though. They tried their hardest to come back. They made a push in the third quarter to cut the lead down. They played the best that they could, and only won the quarter by one point.

The game was pretty much over after that. The starters and main substitutes for Vandalia sat the whole fourth quarter. Wilson still had their starters out on the floor of course. Vandalia was just feeling it on Friday night. They had everyone scoring. Their third string players were picking apart Wilson’s first string players. Vandalia played all of their bench on Friday night and still won the fourth quarter. They went on to the easy win.

This game was a good tune-up game for Vandalia. They have senior night Tuesday night. They are going up against a tough opponent on senior night in Community Baptist. The last meeting was epic between the two schools. Vandalia escaped with a win at Community Baptist with a final score of 100-97! It will be an incredible game in Pleasant Garden on Tuesday night!
