Coach Bill Slayton(Southeast Guilford HS) named to North Carolina Football Coaches’ Association

They had a luncheon downtown this past Saturday(February 7) at the Marriott Hotel, at which time Bill Slayton, former head football coach at Southeast Guilford High School, was named to the North Carolina Football Coaches’ Association, as an honorary member….

One of our mentors here at our web site/blog has received this important honor and he was nominated to enter the Coaches’ Association by current Southeast Guilford Falcon football coach Fritz Hesenthaler….

Read more on this when you CLICK HERE and big-time congrats to Coach Slayton on this honor…He loved his coaching days and he won the NCHSAA 3-A Baseball Title in 1969 and made it to the football semifinals twice back in the late 60’s/early 70’s…

Good job Coach Slayton and keep pushing that 83 year-old coaching mind to higher levels…..Coach Slayton also a good friend to former associate “Big” Jim Modlin…..

“The Southeast Guilford High School football program, under his leadership, has maintained not only successful won/loss records, but has been recognized for its tradition, sportsmanship and as being a ‘class’ program,” association secretary Sam Story said in a news release. “Coach Slayton’s record is impressive, but we also recognize the positive influence he has had on the lives of so many young people over the years.”
