7 thoughts on “Conference Standings here in the last week of the Regular Season for High School Basketball

  1. What the heck has happened to Western Guilford athletics? Struggling in just about every sport, but particularly football and basketball (both genders). It has to be more than just shifting demographics in Guilford County.

  2. The Davidson Day teams (boys & girls) are extremely good teams that can compete with anybody. Both of these games will be tough for both of the GDS teams. Both of the GDS teams lost in Charlotte to Davidson Day and this was the first time in years that both teams have lost on the same day other than the state finals. These games are extremely important for state tournament seeding this weekend.

  3. I told you all that we would be better at Page this year. Last year we were not 9-0 in conference. We have a more cohesive team now.

  4. If you get the “right” coaches into position, then the players will follow. If you have “bad” coaches, then players will continue to find different options or never opt into the Western district. Upgrade the coaches or make sure the coaches have a solid relationship with the AAU or pop warner programs and you will see this problem go away over a period of 2-3 years. If you are only using teachers that want to coach but not do the extra community piece, then players will not develop that key relationship and go where those off season relationship are being built such as Dudley, GDS, Page, etc.
