If we are in school on Friday, we will play the SA-Grimsley boys Play-in game at Dudley on Friday at 6pm. If we are not in school on Friday then the seeding will be Grimsley #3 and SA #4.*****
The Piedmont Triad 4A has Cancelled their Conference Basketball tournament.
The PAC 6 has cancelled their Conference Basketball tournament.
If schools are in session Friday, there may be some play in games. We will inform you if that is the case. If not a draw will be held for any tiebreakers.

BASKETBALL- CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT-
The Mid-State 3A basketball conference tournament has been cancelled. This is due to all 3 school systems being closed tomorrow. The NCHSAA will seed the basketball state playoffs from all current conference standings only. The seeding will take place on Sat.
WRESTLING- INDIVIDUAL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS-
The NCHSAA has adjusted the state championships to a 2 day event starting on Friday. The 3A classification 1st round will start at 12:00 pm on Friday. The tournament will run all day on Friday and Saturday with the finals starting no earlier than 4:00 pm on Saturday.
EGHS ALUMNI VS STAFF BASKETBALL GAMES-
The games scheduled for Thursday, February 19 have been postponed and rescheduled for Friday, February 27- women’s game at 7:00 pm and men’s game at 8:15 pm.
Why would Grimsley get 3 seed and SA get 4 seed if they can’t play on Friday? Only top 3 get locked playoff spots.
Could well have been a drawing already to determine the #3 and #4 seeds for the Metro with Grimsley getting the 3 and Southern Alamance the 4…
May have made the selection in advance, just in case the snow came in a took away the tourney…
The two teams split their two regular season games with SA winning by four and Grimsley by 2, so you can see these two are very close, all the way around…
Names were drawn out of a hat to determine the 3/4 seeding of Grimsley and Southern Alamance. The state granted permission for the two to play on Friday at Dudley even though school has been cancelled.
It would be a shame to knock someone out of/give someone a spot by drawing names out of a hat. Not fair to the kids.
Does Guilford Co allow teams to practice when school is cancelled? If not, these teams would have 2 wks away from the court and a full well of nothing. There may be some huge upsets in the 1st round just because a team is not working at full speed with all of the time off.
From what we have been hearing, the earliest practice could be Saturday, unless a special exception is made…
From what we were hearing, the kids that are in the State Wrestling tournament have to drive over to colisuem today, or find a way over there, since they are saying no bus transportation from the schools, since the schools are not in session on this Friday….
