Elon’s Weekend Baseball Schedule Changes; Phoenix to Play in Aiken, S.C.

ELON, N.C. – With cold weather remaining in the area throughout the remainder of the week and into the weekend, the scheduled Elon Invitational baseball tournament, which was to feature Elon, Ball State, Indiana State and South Dakota State, has been cancelled. The Phoenix will now travel to Aiken, S.C., for three neutral site contests this weekend.

Elon’s weekend schedule will no see no games on Friday, but the maroon and gold will battle High Point at 1:30 p.m. and Ball State at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21. The Phoenix will conclude play in Aiken by squaring off with Ball State again at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22.

All games will be played at USC Aiken’s Roberto Hernandez Stadium. Directions to the stadium are below.

From the West
Take I-20 to Exit 11. Take a right off I-20 and then turn right. Go to the traffic light and turn left. Make another left just past the railroad tracks (2nd stop light) and continue straight. Baseball field is located past the YMCA after you make a right hand turn on Proud Pacer Drive.

From the East
Take I-20 to Exit 18 (the second Aiken exit, Hwy 19). Turn left onto Hwy 19 South and go 4.4 miles to the second traffic light at the intersection of Hwy 19 and Hwy 118. Turn right onto Hwy 118, or University Parkway. Follow Hwy 118 for 3.3 miles (you will go through one traffic light). At the second traffic light go straight and then the Convocation Center will be on your immediate right, which the stadium is directly behind.
