ELON, N.C. – The Elon University softball team will travel to Orlando, Fla., to take part in the Citrus Classic this weekend, Feb. 21-22, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Elon opens against George Washington on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 3:30 p.m. followed by a contest against Jacksonville State slated at 5:45 p.m. The Phoenix will close out the tournament on Sunday, Feb. 22, with contests against Morgan State at 10 a.m. and Virginia at 12:15 p.m.

Elon has faced two of the four teams this weekend in previous seasons in Virginia and Georgia Washington. The Phoenix and the Cavaliers last met in 2010 and 10 times overall while Elon and George Washington have squared off only once in its series history in 2012.
The maroon and gold will play its first true road contest of the season next Wednesday, Feb. 25, at in-state rival North Carolina. That game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. first pitch in Chapel Hill, N.C.
