Game Report: Boys Basketball – Oak Hill Varsity 67 New Garden Friends 60 ( OT )

In a game of could have been and should have been the Bears let this one get away…

New Garden Friends led most of the way giving up a fourth quarter lead that sent the game into overtime. In the extra period the Bears suffered critical turnovers and mistakes which led to easy scores for the Warriors . The Warriors salted the game away from the free throw line in the extra period after gaining the lead.

New Garden controlled the boards 53-36 with Osi Smart pulling down 25 rebounds (17 off of the defensive glass) . In the end the Bears were not able to overcome a cold shooting night ( 35% ) and too many turnovers (24)…many unforced.

Osi Smart led the Bears with 24 points to go with his 25 rebounds . Deng Kongdok grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked 3 shots and Sterling Holland with 11 points was the only other Bear to score double figures.

For the visiting Warriors, L.B. Wingate with 26 points and Bishe Ramabe with 14 led the way.
