On the slate and at the plate for today in the ACC with men’s baseball off and running….

Feature Game of the Day in the ACC:
UCLA vs. North Carolina 1pm in Orlando, Florida:
from www.espn.com:
1. No. 9 UCLA vs. No. 15 North Carolina
Jay Bergman Field (Orlando, Florida)

Like the Super Bowl MVPs, this series is going to Disney World. Ruthless Old Man Winter forced this series to move from snowy Chapel Hill, where the forecast called for single-digit temperatures, to sunny Florida.

Both teams breezed past Northeastern snowbirds Hofstra and Seton Hall, respectively, in opening weekend. The Bruins have been notoriously weak at the dish for the past decade or so but hit .380 with 22 walks last weekend. Could this really be an offense worth fearing? Luke Persico and Chris Keck hit two home runs each. But the Tar Heels will be the litmus test with power arms like Benton Moss and Trent Thornton, who can snuff out the best offenses.
