Northwest Guilford’s Cary Miller[44-0] vs. Southeast Guilford’s Evan Surgeon[42-8] for State Wrestling Title Tonight in 220 pound class:Miller takes Title

Cary Miller(Northwest Guilford HS) claims the NCHSAA 4-A State Title in the 220 pound weight class….

This should make for a good one here as the Unbeaten Cary Miller(44-0) puts his record on the line tonight representing Northwest Guilford High School, as he faces Southeast Guilford’s Evan Surgeon for the NCHSAA 4-A Title in the 220 pound weight class….

The two BIG men, from the opposite corners of Guilford County, will battle for the belt tonight in the Greensboro Coliseum and whistle time, not bell-time, TBA…..

Evan Surgeon (Southeast Guilford) 42-8 won in sudden victory – 1 over Parker Correll (Davie County) 48-4 (SV-1 5-3)
Cary Miller (Northwest Guilford) 44-0 won by fall over Vincent Ngwu (Millbrook) 32-7 (Fall 2:50)

+++++The young men have time to think about it and to prepare for this BIG match…It won’t be going down until sometime later on tonight at the Greensboro Coliseum…..Time to get together/put together a pre-match plan of attack….Get out there and cheer these two men on and all of the other kids too, but there is nothing quite like a battle between two brethern, from the same county…This ought to be a war out there on the mat tonight inside that Greensboro Coliseum…They need to be sure they have Joe Jones lined up to ref this match….The former Marine can call it down the line and make sure the match doesn’t end up out somewhere on Lee Street…Two big bodies and two outstanding athletes set to square off this evening and this one is a “Can’t Miss Keeper”…..Just thinking about those two big men trying to get some leverage and trying to gain some sort of positive advantage, that makes you sweat thinking about that….Who gets the up or down position first and who is on the bottom to begin the 3rd period, with a chance to escape for a one-point advantage or who gets the last reversal for two and the win/victory….

And does this match even go three periods….Miller has a history of getting the fall or falls early, but he is facing a “true Surgeon” this evening….

Get out there and save your friend a seat, this what you went down to the old wrestling room all those years ago to see and now here it is, it could be the “Match of the Century”…..+++++
