GC Pride’s Howard Headlines USA South Men’s Basketball Awards

GREENSBORO, NC – The USA South Athletic Conference released their 2015 Men’s Basketball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday afternoon. The Pride’s Simeon Howard earned first team honors while also being selected as the conference’s Player of the Year.

Howard, a Jacksonville, Florida sophomore guard, currently leads the USA South in scoring, averaging 18.8 points per game. He ranks within the Conference’s top-ten of ten other categories including fifth in three-pointers made (56) and seventh in rebounding average (6.5). In League-action only, Howard led the USA South averaging 20.3 points per game while his 7.2 rebounds per contest ranked fifth. He earns his first career all-conference honor, garnering first team accolades this season. Finally, Howard accumulated two USA South Player of the Week awards this winter.

Senior Raheem Martin also earned conference recognition by being named the Pride’s All-Sportsmanship Team member.

The Pride men will get their 2015 conference tournament underway when they take on the Scots of Maryville College on Thursday afternoon. The game will get underway at 5:00 PM on the campus of Averett University.
