College Men’s Lacrosse Final – Guilford 17, Greensboro 6

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Adam Fiore scored three goals and six assists in Guilford College’s 17-6 lacrosse victory over visiting Greensboro College Wednesday afternoon in the Armfield Athletic Center.

Fiore had three goals and five assists by halftime. He scored three times and assisted three goals during an 8-1 Guilford spurt that turned a 3-2 first-quarter edge into an 11-3 halftime cushion.

Greensboro scored the third quarter’s only two goals, but Guilford resumed its offensive outburst with six fourth-quarter goals. Daniel Haupt netted his third goal of the game and rookies Jake Sadd and Daniel Chadduck scored their first college scores in the final period.

Eleven different Quakers found the back of the net, led by Fiore and Haupt with three goals apiece. Jace Sowden and Daniel Hughey each tallied twice. Guilford held a 54-35 edge in shots and dominated the face-off circle thanks to Connor Manning, who won 12 of 20 draws and picked up a game-high seven ground balls. In addition to scoring his first college goal, Sadd picked up four ground balls and caused four turnovers. Thomas Deane went the distance in goal and made 11 saves.

Denis Radcliffe and Blaine Wise both scored twice for the Pride (0-2). Goalie Cody Cunningham made 15 saves and picked up five ground balls for Greensboro.
