Both teams played an excellent game, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. After the lead changed hands repeatedly during the majority of the 2nd half, GTCC trailed 87-82 with 1:30 remaining. Consecutive baskets by Ryan Passini, Tim Kilpatrick, and Kaleel Walton, the last being the result of an Andre Saunders steal, put the Titans ahead 88-87 with 36 seconds remaining. Lenoir regained the lead with 25 seconds remaining, but Walton tied things up again with a free throw at the :20 mark. GTCC got the needed defensive stop to send the game into overtime. It was much the same in the OT session, as the teams traded baskets to remain tied with under a minute to play. Several Lenoir free throws pushed their lead to 102-97, but a Walton 3 with 5 seconds remaining cut the deficit to 102-100. Lenoir then made 2 free throws to secure the victory.
