HPU’s James Named SoCon MLAX Offensive Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Redshirt-junior Brad James of the High Point University men’s lacrosse team was named Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

James led the Panthers’ attack in a come-from behind 13-10 win over Robert Morris on Feb. 28 in Vert Stadium. With the team trailing 9-7 midway through the third quarter, the midfielder went on a tear to lead HPU to victory.

He assisted on goals by sophomore Michael LeClair and freshman Connor Robinson to send the game to the fourth quarter knotted at 9-all. The Lansdale, Pa. native, then, opened the scoring in the fourth quarter to give the Panthers a 10-9 lead. From there HPU pulled away for the 13-10 victory. James finished the day with two goals and two assists.

James gives the Purple & White its third player of the week as LeClair won the offensive honor on Feb. 10 and Pat Farrell won the defensive honor on Feb. 24. This is the first time James has won a conference player of the week award.

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, March 7 when they travel to Marist to take on the Red Foxes at noon.
